Alright, as one colleague would say, 'It's time for a reboot!'. I need to reboot myself to wake me up and get me cracking on my professional development. I wrote in the past that I was working on my MCITP and on a self paced training kit for CCNA. Not much has happened since then. I mean I picked up the books but only got one or two chapters in to them. I also told myself that I was going to work on learning more on the Linux side of things. Yes, I've installed several different distributions but I really didn't know much about it. I always had to rely on a GUI interface and on Google searches to figure things out, but really I was too afraid to learn the command line.
Well all this procrastination is going to stop. I started from scratch last night on my Linux learning. I started off with lesson one on Linux.org. I know I don't need to start at that basic level, but I really want to make sure I don't miss anything. I had to submit my goals for the year at work just this past Tuesday and in my Development goals I have now listed MCITP and CCENT with deadlines during this year to have some of it done.
I talked with my wife about this briefly and her reply was 'Do what you need to do.'. I love how understanding she is about it all. She knows that I'll have to be spending time at home working on these things but she is still ok with it. Thank you Beautiful!
